Sep 9th Mousehold Heath

Butterfly survey with friends at Mousehold Heath
September is the final month for butterfly surveys at Mousehold Heath. So this afternoon, I helped Will the warden with one and we were joined by two of our friends, David and Paul. It was a bit cloudy at times with a bit of a breeze, but we managed to get a total of 19 butterflies. This includes 8 speckled woods, 5 large whites, 3 small whites, 2 red admirals, 1 comma and one small copper. We also saw a kestrel as well as a couple of lizards.
