May 2nd Mousehold Heath

Bird survey evening at Mousehold
This evening, I have been helping out with a bird survey at Mousehold Heath with Will the warden. It was a very good survey with plenty of song thrushes, blackcaps, blackbirds, wrens, robins, blue tits, a few chaffinches, long-tailed tits, great tits, chiffchaffs, goldcrests and the odd dunnock, greenfinch and goldfinch. The video below is a small sample of tonight's dusk chorus, you can hear some of these birds singing in the background. Which ones can you hear? Also tonight, we saw a kestrel sitting inside the same nest box in the woods as last year with its tail sticking out.
