July 6th Mousehold Heath

Sunset over Norwich
After a very sudden and long thunderstorm this afternoon back in Norwich, I was relieved that it had stopped in time for me to help out with the final bird survey of the year at Mousehold this evening. It was rather quiet for most of the transect, as expected for July, but we did hear a few things tonight. This included; chiffchaffs, blackcaps, song thrushes, chaffinches, magpies, jays, wrens, a greenfinch, calls from robins, blackbirds, a goldcrest, blue tits, a treecreeper and a great spotted woodpecker.

A rather muddy bird survey after this afternoon's thunderstorm!
