Bird surveying at Mousehold tonight |
This evening, I helped out with a bird survey at Mousehold Heath. It was quite pleasant for it and it was a reasonably good survey with plenty of bird sounds to take note of, including many calls from young blue tit and great tit fledglings. We also heard blackbirds, blackcaps, robins, chiffchaffs, wrens, chaffinches, dunnocks and the odd song thrush, goldcrest, whitethroat and greenfinch. Unbelievably, there was still no willow warblers singing. What has happened to them at Mousehold this year?
